Steve Baum Stars at the SuperConference

When it comes to understanding what it takes to achieve business success in a profession, Steve Baum has few equals. He is Managing Partner Emeritus of the New York accounting and consulting firm of Marks Paneth & Shron, where he serves as trusted and knowledgeable business advisor to a Who’s Who of successful individuals resident in the greater New York City area. He also is the Chief Executive Officer of Boston based Exceptional Wisdom, Inc, sponsor of the SuperConference.
Until recently, Steve was co-Managing Partner of Marks Paneth & Shron and architect of the plan that saw the firm develop into one of the largest and most respected CPA firms in New York. He is also a past President of the New York State Society of CPAs and he has served as a member of its Board of Directors. And, he previously served on the Governing Council of the American Institute of CPAs.
Steve’s passion is his work with philanthropic organizations, both as an advisor and as an officer. He is the Secretary/Treasurer and a Trustee of the Dorot Foundation (an organization that supports educational and cultural activities related to Jewish heritage) and the Union Square Fund (which provides monetary awards to recognize and support innovative grassroots projects and organizations responding to pressing social issues in NYC). He also serves as a director of Justice for Athletes. Steve has been honored for his contributions to the accounting profession and to philanthropic endeavors with two prestigious awards from the New York State Society of CPAs: the Arthur J. Dixon Public Service Award and the Distinguished Service Award. He has also received the Public Service Award from the AICPA, an honor reserved for only one CPA in each state.
Steve Baum earned his BA degree in Accounting from Queens College, a JD from Brooklyn Law School, and a LLM in Taxation from New York University School of Law. He is a Certified Public Accountant, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of CPA’s, and the New York State Bar Association. He has been admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court.
